LADIES OUTING 2015

The Ladies took themselves off to Dunnikier Country Park for their golf outing this year. Unfortunately our usual mini bus was not available so we had to press gang some poor souls into being the nominated drivers for the day  .  Well done girls and thank you! Margaret, Agnes and Annie arrived eventually with the help of two satnavs and a mobile phone - don't ask!  Team one were at a disadvantage from the start with only two players and a scorecard for the wrong course. The weather was kind and we had one of the warmest days of the summer so far. The course is beautiful - wide open fairways and lots of run. Unfortunately that also applied to the greens where most of us experienced our puts running straight past the hole and off the green.  There were some excellent scores returned with team Agnes, Iris and Dot returning the winning scores (as it turned out in all categories) so the One Prize per Person rule came into force.  Congratulations also to Liz and Sheena. We all had a wonderful day, sunshine, good food and excellent refreshments! Plans are now underway for the next one.

We had a very close finish at the Jubilee Greensomes with only 0.2 between 1st and 2nd and 0.2 between 2nd and 3rd. Thank goodness maths genius's Pat and Liz were on hand to check the scores!

Ladies Open Tri-Am

When I heard the pitter patter of rain on my skylight early this morning my heart fell - but no, the weather forecast told me that the rain was to cease in Perth at 10am and true to form it did (well nearly). Today was a change of format for our Ladies Open and all the competitors were very complimentary about how the day went, how good the course was looking (despite the overnight rain)and what a warm welcome they received from all King Jimmy - from the juniors who helped with their clubs over the bridge, to the Ladies committee and members, to Matthew and Allan in the pro shop and of course to Paul, Mike and Ronnie who looked after their catering needs so well. The first of our Saturday Texas Scrambles was held to day. the scoring was extremely close. the winners won by only 0.1! Special mention must be made to the runners up who came back in 33 - a credible 3 under par. Well done to all. The ladies First Fling held on Saturday 28th March was full of excitement within each games. In the winning team of Fiona Farquharson, Michelle Mckay, Donna Nixon and Pat Short, new member Donna Nixon holed her 8 iron on the 9th hole.

The runners up team of Moira Lumby, Anne Smith and Sheena McGregor had nothing more that a 5 on their card

and in the final game of Alison Knight, Margaret Watson and Pam Ewen, Margaret holed a fully hit pitching wedge at the 6th

OPENING DAY 2015

Fourteen  ladies teed off on Saturday for the Captain v Vice Captain match.  Despite the starting date being so early in the year, we had a glorious day. The sun shone and some of us even played in short sleeves.
The Lady Captain, Moira Lumby's, team emerged the winners but Alison Knight our Vice Captain was not downhearted. She declared the day an outstanding success when she outdrove Moira twice. Photographic evidence is available on request!
