It was a case of quality, not quantity today. We had a fab day playing a Texas Scramble with a wee twist and Agnes (who almost didn't make it on time !), Pat & Iris won the Easter Eggs with a 70.4. Runners up Michelle, Pam & Sheena managed to card 75.6 - not enough on the day!
It was a beautiful day out on the course - not only were the balls running, but the trolleys as well. One even managed to tip itself over ! We always manage to have an eventful day😜

Opening Day 23 Mar 2019
What a beautiful day to start the season - weather was bright and dry, course looked great. Thanks to Ian & Tennents for our Prosecco aperitif ! Don't know if that was to blame but there was a fair bit of hilarity around the course from balls out of bounds, balls hitting trees, some people's knees being nearer to the ground than they thought, hip flasks out and about. Thanks to Pam, we also had a little taster of Rhubarb & Raspberry Gin, mmm. We were all ready for our tea by the time we got in tho' - great Steak Pie ! As for the Captain v Vice Captain match (I can't put it off any longer !), Vice Captain Liz's team were victorious again 2.5 pts to 1.5pts.
Pre-Season Club Get Together
13 ladies, unlucky for some, turned out for our pre-season get-together and we were pleased to welcome one of our new members, Kiera. After a bit of info from the Captain on the upcoming season, Linda then presented the Winter league results:
Scratch 1st Linda M 2nd Liz 3rd Agnes
Handicap 1st Lesley 2nd Iris 3rd Donna
Eclectic 1st Pat 2nd Dot 3rd Sheena
Ball winners: Moira L, Michelle, Annette, Helen, Moira C & Noreen
After our chilli or baked tatties, we came to the surprise highlight of the evening (!) - unlucky for the ladies - Bingo! The bingo callers took a bit of stick about their calling abilities but ploughed on regardless 😣

Stonehaven Social Weekend
Last weekend our Pre-Season social weekend took us to Stonehaven. A few of us stopped off en route at windswept Ballumbie for a round of golf. It was interesting playing amongst the houses and watching runaway trolleys!
Then we headed on to Stonie and the fabulous Dalriada Lodges - perfect location, 2 min walk to golf course! Some highlights - Indian meal at clubhouse, golf in horizontal rain and sleet, rainlashed walk into town, meal at The Ship, taxi driver tourist guide, 38-38 draw, dubious Welsh singing, fantastic views from course, Aunty Betty's ice cream and late night drinks & camaraderie. It was all great fun & we're looking forward to doing it all again next year. Thanks to all the Dolls who made it happen😃

We Kept Ginning !
Another successful Gin Day at King Jimmy's !
Thanks to the ladies who supplied all the gins - too many flavours to mention but the sweetie versions were something different. There is no limit to your imagination - roll on next year!
By the end of the night there wasn't a drop left, nor a prize left on the tombola table.
We also had a competition to see who could come up with the best gin-themed song/artist. We had loads of entries but the jury decided the Runner Up was 'My Old Man's A Gin Man' by Lonnie Donegin (David Knight) with the winner coming from Linda G's table with Gin Gang Gooly Gooly.
Everybody seemed to be enjoying the evening from the noise in the lounge. Even the mic gave up at the end - it must have decided it couldn't compete!
Sorry I don't have any photos to add here (I was a bit pre-occupied on the night !) but you can find some on KJVI Facebook page.
Thanks for everyone's support from start to finish - it was all worth the effort to raise £1400 for club funds.

Winter Walk 2019
Our winter walk took us to all points west - from Dobbies to Ruthvenfield, onto Pitcairngreen then Almondbank and back to Dobbies for a well earned lunch! Thanks to Iris for keeping us on the right track and we were back bang on time to meet up with a few other ladies who skipped the walk but managed lunch.

Ladies Christmas Golf & Meal
The 9th of December 2018 will be a day the King Jimmy ladies will remember for a while - all 21 current lady members turned out for our Xmas meal. There was no cajoling or threats required!
8 ladies donned their Xmas attire for a round of winter golf before retiring to the clubhouse to be joined by the rest of the section to enjoy a hearty Xmas meal provided by Paul & his team.
After we were full up with both food and drink, a little bit of exercise, both of the mind and body, was required. Out came Pass the Parcel - with a few tweaks ! There was a fair bit of laughter, often at other's expense, at Find the Golf Tee, Pass the M&M's, What's in the Stocking & Wrap a Present. As the tasks seemed to be getting a little bit harder as each round passed, the last 4 ladies were getting more and more anxious. But they were lucky as the organiser had run out of ideas, so they only had to unwrap the last parcel and claim the prizes. Phew !
