Our winter walk took us to all points west - from Dobbies to Ruthvenfield, onto Pitcairngreen then Almondbank and back to Dobbies for a well earned lunch! Thanks to Iris for keeping us on the right track and we were back bang on time to meet up with a few other ladies who skipped the walk but managed lunch.

Ladies Christmas Golf & Meal
The 9th of December 2018 will be a day the King Jimmy ladies will remember for a while - all 21 current lady members turned out for our Xmas meal. There was no cajoling or threats required!
8 ladies donned their Xmas attire for a round of winter golf before retiring to the clubhouse to be joined by the rest of the section to enjoy a hearty Xmas meal provided by Paul & his team.
After we were full up with both food and drink, a little bit of exercise, both of the mind and body, was required. Out came Pass the Parcel - with a few tweaks ! There was a fair bit of laughter, often at other's expense, at Find the Golf Tee, Pass the M&M's, What's in the Stocking & Wrap a Present. As the tasks seemed to be getting a little bit harder as each round passed, the last 4 ladies were getting more and more anxious. But they were lucky as the organiser had run out of ideas, so they only had to unwrap the last parcel and claim the prizes. Phew !

Ladies AGM & Prizegiving
It was a spooky halloween night for our AGM with a couple of witches hats being thrown around and a few creepy critters on our dining table - but it takes more than that to put us off our food ! A good turnout of the ladies saw a straightforward AGM (thank you ladies !), an expeditious prizegiving (I don't think anyone could do it quicker than Dot!) and a lovely meal prepared by Paul, ably assisted by Ronnie.

Friendly/Handicap League Matches
FRIENDLY MATCHES 2018
The ladies had mixed success this year with the Friendly
matches, winning 1 and losing 3. At
times it was a struggle to find enough ladies to make up a team as we have such
a small membership, but the good news is that Donna agreed to play this year
and Noreen has made a return and is happy to be part of a team. So – anyone else who hasn’t played in this
for a while please consider taking part.
It’s good fun and you get your food after! Thanks Paul.
Also thanks to all of you who took part.
After the winter to practice I’m confident we’ll do better next season
in the return matches!
HANDICAP LEAGUE
Unfortunately we didn’t do too well this year in the
Handicap League matches, but no-one can say we didn’t try! It was enjoyable and we were incredibly lucky
with the weather. Thanks to everyone who
put their name down – it can be tricky with the times for the working ladies
and sometimes it was difficult to make up a team – so – please next season put
your name down and join in the fun. With
lots of practice over the winter we’ll be ready for a come-back!
I have put up the result sheet on the notice board in the
ladies locker room.
Thanks again to everyone who took part in both Friendlies
and Handicap and well done.

Ladies Championship Finals Day
Congratulations to Fiona and Pam, our Scratch and Handicap Champions for 2018. Commiserations to the runners-up Moira L. and Dot. Both games were played in great spirits and there was a lot of good golf on show to keep the spectators entertained. Well done also to the caddies. Liz and I were quite happy that our rules books stayed in our pockets !
Thanks to Paul and staff for our enjoyable post-match meal in the clubhouse.
Also congratulations were in order for Noreen's birthday today - with a quickly rustled up birthday cake!

Friendly Match at Strathmore
The last of our Friendlies this season was played on 9th August. This time it was an away match at Strathmore. Our team of Dot, Donna, Michelle, Agnes, Noreen and Helen tried their best but sadly lost all 3 of their matches.
At least 2 of the matches finished on the 15th which was very convenient for retiring to the clubhouse !
Never mind ladies - there's always next year! Plenty time to practice and gain more experience from playing other courses.
Outing to Aberdour 5 Aug
What a lovely day we had by the seaside at Aberdour !
15 ladies played in the Tri-am with Annette joining our happy band as on-course photographer for the day.
The course was tricky from the very start. At the very daunting 1st hole, which turned out to be more tricky for some of us than others, I'm sure I saw ball-spotters in their kayaks on the Forth.
The views across the Forth were superb - when we didn't have to concentrate on our shots of course.
As none of the King Jimmy ladies featured in the prizelist, it's just as well we had our own little in-house competition.
Karen, Iris & Michelle won the team prize with a score of 150
Linda won nearest the pin on the 7th
Pam won the Endeavour Prize
Fiona won the sweepy (as no one thought she would have had the best individual score !)
A good day was had by all 🏌🍹🥘
